Makeup Geek Vegas Lights Palette Review

I'm so excited to do this review; this has been one of the products on my wishlist for a very long time and I can't believe I finally have it!

Makeup Geek is a brand started and owned by Marlena. From what I understand she started out with a Youtube channel and a website, and then expanded into creating makeup.

I own a few of her products, and I've always been fairly impressed with everything.

The Vegas Lights palette was a supposed to be a limited edition palette, but given that it's still around I'm assuming it was so popular they decided to make it permanent.

This is a good thing, because if you're warm toned and deeper skinned, you're going to want this palette!

This is a fairly small palette, fitting into my hand easily. The packaging is made from cardboard but feels quite sturdy.

All the shadows, save one, are 'limited edition' and are not available outside of this palette. Which is truly a shame because these are some gorgeous shades!

You can tell just by looking at these shades that this palette is extremely warm toned. In my case, that's a good thing because warm toned shades are very flattering on me.

There are three shimmer and three matte shades. The shimmer shades are on the top row, Casino, Sin City and Roulette. The matte shades are on the bottom row, Mirage, Desert Sands and Bada Bing.

Bada Bing is a permanent shade and is available as a single, unlike the other shades.

Casino is a shimmery, warm toned yellow with gold micro shimmer.

Sin City is a shimmery, warm toned apricot-gold with peach micro shimmer.

Roulette is a shimmery, red-brown toned copper. This is a beautiful shade and my favorite one in the palette!

Mirage
is a matte yellow-beige. It's a great shade for highlighting the browbone!

Desert Sands is a matte, warm-toned medium brown. This was slightly patchy during swatching but I had no issues when using it on the lid. This is a wonderful crease and transition shade!

Bada Bing is a matte, warm-toned deep brown with gold sparkles. This had a dry formula and was a little less pigmented than the other shades. Very few of the sparkles actually show up on the lid, and the few that do disappear during blending.

The swatches above are a single swipe over no primer, except for Bada Bing, which is two swipes. You can clearly see just how pigmented they are!

All the shades have really, really good quality. On the lids, they last for a solid 8 hours without fading (over primer, of course). There's no creasing seen. They are a little on the powdery side, but if you tap the excess off your brush before you apply, you won't get any fallout. Even with Bada Bing, I didn't find any of the sparkles falling under my eyes.

I find it very easy to use this palette, the shades are well coordinated and it's easy to come up with a variety of looks.. Here's one I came up with in about five minutes!

I have Casino on the lid, Desert Sands in the crease, and Bada Bing in the outer V
I have to say I really, really like this palette and can't believe I didn't get it earlier! Thanks to Anna I finally have it, and I'm in love :)

    1. I haven't tried the blushes or her brushes, but I really am impressed with the eyeshadows I have!

Thank you for the compliment - the nice thing about this palette is just how effortless it is to come out with looks, because the shadows are so pigmented and blend out so easily!
